I have created this blog to keep those who are interested "up to speed" on what we are doing during out 2 years in Singapore. It seems a bit strange to create this blog....but I've had plenty of requests to keep people "in the loop" on our adventure. So here goes. First off, let me begin by saying that I'm not a writer, English major or a comedian. So to sum it up.... "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit".
We have a move date of July 6...so we are in the pre-packing stage. We are not taking any of our furniture with us, but have elected to purchase once we get to Singapore. We do, however, get to take with us 4 personal air shipments. So now the task begins of deciding what is important to take versus nice to have. I have already told Mike that he doesn't get a shipment :) I've started stocking up on things I've been told are very pricey in S'pore. Kids clothing and shoes, bathing suits and US sheets/bedding. The good/bad news is that it is hot and humid in Singapore all year round. So yea, we only have to take our summer clothes...but boo, it is hot and humid all year round.
The other thing we are now trying to decide is how much kid "crap" to take with us. I know that if Addison had her way, at least one air shipment would be dedicated to her entire stuffed animal collection. I, however, am looking at this as an opportunity to start "thinning out the herd" so to speak.
Of course momma needs to take a few of her own things. My girl Bridget has hooked me up with a 6 month supply of hair color (can't let them see me gray), and a bin full of flip flops.
All of the pre-packing is starting to make it feel very "real". I'm excited and nervous all at the same time.
